NMT64B | Finger Touch Sensor Adapter (Harness Checker)

Easy continuity check with just a touch of your finger.

The finger touch sensor NMT64B is an optional product for harness testers that enables continuity testing by touching the conductor of a cable with your finger. It utilizes the induced current received by the human body to confirm the continuity of the conductor touched by the finger. It can be connected to all harness testers sold by Nack Corporation that feature a search function. Currently, in the inspection field of wire harnesses, testing of one-sided cut cables (one side unprocessed and untreated) is difficult with probes, posing challenges for continuity testing operations. This product allows for continuity testing simply by touching the end of a one-sided cut cable with your finger, significantly improving work efficiency and greatly reducing inspection time. In addition to one-sided cut cables, it can be utilized for various applications such as navigation during connector housing and wiring work in distribution boards.

[Production Example] Continuity Inspection Section

A case where the unit is made to float with a spring mechanism, eliminating scratches and dents on the product!

We would like to introduce a case where Nagoya Seiko manufactured a "Continuity Inspection Unit." The customer was visually inspecting the terminal sections, which are connected as a single piece, after they were separated for use as products. However, they faced issues with defective products flowing into the next process due to oversights or forgetfulness. In response, we developed this product. To avoid impacting production efficiency, we established an inspection process during transportation, eliminating oversights and forgetfulness in applying electrodes. [Case Overview (Partial)] <Process Improvement> - Established an inspection process during transportation to eliminate oversights and forgetfulness in applying electrodes. <Design Points> - Used probes (contact-type needles) for the inspection where electrodes are applied. - Not only did we incorporate a floating mechanism for the probes themselves, but we also made the unit float with a spring mechanism to prevent scratches and dents on the products. *For more details, please refer to the related links or feel free to contact us.

[Case Study] Continuity Testing Device

Even without experience, it can be easily operated! Here are examples of cases where a reliable pass/fail judgment has been achieved.

Here is a case study of our continuity testing equipment. A customer in the automotive industry was conducting product inspections through visual checks, but during increased production, defective products were released outside the company, leading to complaints. In response, we proposed to energize the insert-molded terminals and determine pass or fail based on the presence or absence of continuity. As a result, inspections that could not be judged through visual checks were reliably assessed for pass or fail. [Case Overview] ■ Challenges - Product inspections were conducted through visual checks, but during increased production, defective products were released outside the company, resulting in complaints. ■ Results - Inspections that could not be judged through visual checks were reliably assessed for pass or fail. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.
